LUX was launched by 21-year old James Courtney during his University studies. Within 6 months, the dining rewards app was launched, the first 20 restaurants had signed up, and over £80,000 investment was raised on Crowdcube.

Expansion & Card-Linking

LUX expanded to London and embraced the latest in card-linking technology to make the customer journey seamless. LUX is supported by both the NatWest Accelerator and the Just Eat Accelerator.

2020-2021

Major Pivot to B2B Bank Partnerships

The year of 2020 started successfully with over £220,000 raised on Crowdcube. However, with the pandemic closing hospitality venues, LUX made a strategic pivot from a consumer restaurant app, to providing merchant offers from various sectors to banks and other enterprises (B2B). In Summer 2021, LUX partnered with their first bank, Barclaycard.

Rapid Growth & Major Investment

LUX grows from mere thousands in revenue each month to multi-million pound annual revenue in the space of a couple of years. A milestone was reached of £100 million in revenue generated for partnered merchants. Multi-million pound investment from Enigmatic Smile catapulted the business to success.
