Preparing for Summer: top 3 restaurants to go to after lockdown!

Updated: Aug 17, 2020

I'm not sure about you, but I have been hoping the lockdown would ease up for summer. I’ve loved having more time at home, but let’s face it - no home meal of mine will even closely resemble anything of the restaurants I love to go to.

With summer starting on the 20th June and restaurants opening from the 4th of July, I’ve been daydreaming about my first post-lockdown meal and have picked my favourite three places I hope will be opening in time to enjoy some summer rays and picture-worthy food!

Veeno Wine Bars

Remember when you would meet with your friends after a day at work to relax and share some of the finest food and drinks? Italians call this ‘Aperitivo’ and Veeno caters to these moments. I for one am looking forward to sharing these moments again.

If you and your friends are lovers of wine, why not catch up over Veeno’s wine tasting session? Taste a selection of Sicily's best, paired with complementing foods. Simply focus on relaxing with your friends and let one of Veeno’s team members take you on a guided trip of quality flavours.

Veeno has numerous locations around the UK including Bristol, Manchester, and Reading so If this sounds like your kind of thing, make sure to check their website to find out the nearest location to you!

Ping Pong

If you’re a fan of Asian cuisine, I would venture down to one of Ping Pong’s vibrant London locations. Walking through and eating in the heart of London is definitely a great way to spend a warm summer's day.

Whether you’re looking to indulge in classics or embrace experimental dishes, Ping Pong offers a vegan and gluten-free menu with plenty of dishes to choose from, so no one will be left out.

Mantra

In the center of Bath sits Mantra, a restaurant that specialises in serving progressive Indian food.

Providing a twist on your usual Indian takeaway, Mantra crafts authentic Indian flavours in an experimental way to create a unique culinary experience. What better way for foodies, such as myself, to kickstart life beyond the bounds of lockdown.
