How we are helping our restaurants during this challenging time

Updated: Sep 8, 2020

It has been an extremely stressful week for everyone in the industry. During this period of uncertainty, it's crucial that we all step up to support each other. The LUX team are here to help our restaurant members in any way that we can.

Here are three ways that we are supporting our restaurants:

1. Restaurant Delivery & Collection

Many restaurants are launching delivery options so that their loyal customers can continue to enjoy their food from the comfort of their own home. We are helping our restaurants to promote these services to our users.

If restaurants still take payment via card directly, then their customers should be able to receive reward points, which encourages greater spend and loyalty.

2. Gift Cards & Experience Vouchers

It's the perfect time for our restaurants to advertise their gift cards and experience vouchers such as afternoon teas, wine tastings and cocktail making. This can give restaurants instant cash flow now, when they need it, for redemption later. We are helping to promote these to our users.

3. Planning for the future

Marketing Consultation

We are offering all of our restaurants a free marketing workshop with our Senior Marketing Consultant, Jon Reay. He has 17 years of experience in digital agencies and can advise on how to engage with customers, how to use data, how to set up internally, and how to digitise services and innovate.

Advanced Bookings

With many marketing and sales teams working remotely, we are recommending that restaurants use this time wisely to plan their marketing activities for the rest of the year. The second half of 2020 is going to be of even greater importance, so putting plans in place for re-launch events, summer parties, corporate entertainment (we expect a surge once restrictions are relaxed) and even Christmas. We advise implementing a very lenient cancellation policy. Implement and Optimise LUX

LUX helps high-quality restaurants and bars to:

- Attract higher spending customers (affluent consumers and corporate customers)

- Encourage repeat visits and incentivise higher spend

- Enhance their brand by offering luxury rewards, rather than devalue with discounts

- Flex your demand with your supply, by offering more reward points at quiet times

All of this, plus it is easy to implement (no hardware, integrations or staff training) and the ROI is always positive as there are no upfront or monthly fees.

For those that have launched LUX, please make the most of the free advertising that we offer to our users. If you send us content (new menus, launches, events, press releases, etc.) then we can distribute across all of our channels.

Get in touch

We are helping to promote all of this content to our users via our website, email campaigns, corporate contacts, push notifications and social media. For existing LUX restaurant members, please see your inbox or email sam@luxrewards.co.uk.

If you're not yet a member of LUX but would like us to help promote your restaurant, then please get in touch. We will be reducing our commission to make no profit during this time (only funding the rewards for the customers) and there is never any cost unless we bring additional customers.

If you have any other ideas for how we can help our restaurants, please get in touch! We are open to new ideas. Often with crisis comes opportunities, and we want to help our restaurants to take advantage of these.
